Brief History

In 1989 a local resident saw the need for a Neighbourhood Centre to be established in Port Stephens and formed a committee of volunteers to begin the service. Over the years the centre has grown and developed through community consultation, funding and continuous identification of community needs. Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre is now primarily staffed with a dedicated team of volunteers under the guidance of the Board of Management.

Management Model

The Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre is primarily funded by Family & Community Services, Community Builders Grants Program and managed by the volunteer Tomaree Neighbourhood Centre Board of Management in consultation with staff.
